Martenscroft Nursery School Website and Branding – Case Study

Martenscroft School Website

Martenscroft Nursery School and Childrens Centre came to School Spider looking for a full rebrand and logo, along with a new bespoke website after being referred by another school who currently work with us.

The Challenge

The schools main reasons for change were to update their dated design and bring their school to life, all with a system everyone would find easier to use.

  • Outdated design: The old website lacked modern design elements and their branding did not effectively represent the school’s tagline and values.
  • Difficult to manage and access: The old website was difficult to manage both for staff in the school and users accessing the website.

Martenscroft Nursery School before School Spider:

Objectives

Martenscroft Nursery School partnered with School Spider with the following objectives in mind:

  • Rebranding: Create a new logo and branding that encapsulates the school’s tagline: “We are expressive, mindful, responsible, and inquisitive so we can play, learn, and grow.”
  • Website Redesign: Develop a modern, user-friendly website that is easy to navigate and update.

The Rebrand

Karla was the dedicated project manager and we started with the rebrand. We began diving into exactly what the school were looking for with the new brand. After collating their ideas and mood boards, it was handed over to our designers to work their magic and bring everything to life.

Their ideas included a Manchester skyline, something colourful but with more green and they liked elements of children, tree and hand shapes.

AFTER:

It excelled my expectations, I was fully involved in the whole process and my ideas were captured.

The website

Once the branding was complete, we moved onto their school website. Again, we collated the schools needs and wants and began working on a design concept. After just one round of amends the design was signed off ready to be built.

Key points

  • Branding elements: We made sure their new brand was represented throughout their website
  • Bespoke design: A new website was developed with modern elements, ensuring it was visually appealing and user-friendly. Special attention was given to ease of navigation for parents with plenty of links and shortcuts to important areas.
  • Transfer of content: As always, we made sure all of the schools previous content was transferred to the new template ready for them to review before going live

The launch

Once the school had reviewed and signed off their new website it was time for training and launch day.

The school booked their website area training, where our school success team went through how the school can easily manage their website and post regular updates.

We then worked with the school to seamlessly transition their website over with zero downtime!.

“I would highly recommend School Spider, the finished website is innovative and captures the image of the school perfectly. The website is user friendly and we always have positive feedback about the appearance of the website.
The admin area of the website is easy to use and makes keeping the website updated a simple process. School Spider helped us to rebrand our school and this has transformed all of our communication processes.
